World Press Freedom Day 2019: We celebrate “world press freedom day” on every year in the month of May on the 3rd day. It was first organized by the “United Nations General Assembly” in 1993. We celebrate World Press Day on may 3rd to raise the “Freedom of the Press” around the world. Many people who worked in media or in journalism worked hard and serve their entire life to the media profession.

So on account of this, we have to pay tribute to the journalists who lost their lives while their operation in their profession. Every country will celebrate this day as “World Press Freedom Day” to remind the government that to respect and to uphold the right to “freedom of the press”. Many people who worked for media and who put their lives at risk in the account of their profession are recognized on this “World Press Freedom Day”.
We celebrate “World Press Freedom Day” as a global observance but not as a public holiday. Many communities, the organization takes part in this and conduct many events like monitoring a speech about media or they do some roadside rallies by prolonging slogans or by conducting art exhibitions etc. The people celebrate this day by distributing awards and honor them as the best employees who work out hard to achieve in their career.

UNESCO looks first place in identified the global observances and to organize the events through the world in every year. This day remembers the people that many journalist sacrifices and face the jail to bring news to the public.
Every year since 1997, the UNESCO conducts the event and awarded the “World Press Freedom Prize” to the people who work hard and sacrifices his life to his profession. Last year this “World Press Freedom Prize” is given to a Russian Journalist who worked as an investigative reporter. He was murdered in the line of his operation in 2016.
