On Ugadi, people take holy bath in early mornings, put on new clothes and worship God. A special attraction for this Ugadi festival is “Ugadi Pachadi“. It is a combination of six different tastes like sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy and astringent. Ugadi Pachadi symbolizes feelings like happiness, anger, sad, surprise and disgust. This Pachadi is made of jaggery, flowers of neem, tamarind and raw mango. It is made in a new pot which is healthy and yummy to drink.
Besides Ugadi Pachadi, a special dish is also prepared, and it is named as Bobbattu or Bhakshalu. It is delicious and is made of gram and jaggery.
