The registered candidates will post the tweets and the unregistered candidates can only read the tweets. Twitter has more than 319 million monthly active users as of 2016. Users can know all the latest news through Twitter. Twitter also has a mobile application where users can access Twitter on mobile. Users who post the tweets will be in the public category where everyone can see them but can also restrict the tweets only to the followers.
Many users while tweeting when exceeding the limit of 140 characters, they try to compress the message as to fit in the post. People find it a bit difficult while trying to tweet the long messages. Now, Twitter is working hard to increase the characters long to 280 which is exactly double the length of characters present right now. When users write the tweet in English they reach the 140 characters limit. But while making a tweet in Japanese, less number of characters are enough.

The difference in the language is an important factor in making the Tweet. The first expanded tweet is done by the chief executive Jack Dorsey. Jack tweets as “This is a small change, but a big move for us. 140 was an arbitrary choice based on the 160 character SMS limit. Proud of how thoughtful the team has been in solving a real problem people have when trying to tweet. And at the same time maintaining our brevity, speed, and essence!”.

The company also explains the decision of increasing the character limit to 280 through its blog. As per the reports, it seems that nine percent of all tweets in English will hit the 140 character limit. But, only 0.4 percent of all the tweets in Japanese will hit the 140 character limit. Now, Twitter is testing the tweets by doubling the length of characters from 140 to 280. Also, only a small group of people can able to tweet with the character limit to 280. After the test becomes successful, then, the 280 characters limit will roll on to other users.
